Türkiye, Egg Producers Central Union (YUM-BİR) drew attention to the place of eggs in human life and their role in healthy nutrition on the occasion of WORLD EGG DAY. World Egg Day, which has been celebrated every year on the second Friday of October since 1996, has been celebrated under the leadership of YUM-BİR since 2006. In the statement, which stated that it was aimed to emphasize the importance of eggs in nutrition, attention was drawn to both the healthy nutrition of individuals and the economic aspects of eggs.
Eggs have a place on tables all over the world with their rich and unique nutritional content. YUM-BİR emphasizes that eggs are a natural source of vitamins with 14 essential nutrients, especially iron, zinc and vitamins A, B, D and E, which are of critical importance for human health. In addition, high-quality protein, nutrients such as amino acids, calcium, sodium, iodine and selenium, and abundant amounts of choline necessary for brain development make eggs an indispensable nutritional tool for a healthy life. Eggs support the vital functions of the human body and ensure healthy brain, muscle, skin, eye and nervous system development. It also gains importance with its benefits such as reducing the risk of heart diseases and preventing age-related Alzheimer's. Türkiye, which ranks 7th in World Egg Production, is among the top 5 in the world with an annual production of 22 billion eggs and an export of 450 million USD. It is the leading country exporting its production in world egg exports. Türkiye, with its egg production sector of 135 million installed capacity and 110 million layer birds, is among the leading countries in Africa, the EU and the EU. It has the capacity to export eggs to 56 countries, especially the Gulf countries, the USA, and currently exports liquid and powdered eggs, as well as table and hatching eggs, to 39 countries. Türkiye, which has made the most successful fight against the bird flu epidemic that has surrounded the whole world, is seen as the most reliable egg supplier in the world. YUM-BİR, the umbrella organization of the egg industry that provides direct and indirect employment to 300 thousand people, is a "COUNTRY MEMBER" of the World Egg Organization (WEO). While YUM-BİR works nationally and globally for the sustainable production of producers, it also insures our consumers' access to reliable and economical food and eggs and security of supply.
